Customizing Your Membership

Posted by GigMasters on March 10, 2010

This article is intended to teach you how to acquire the best possible leads from GigMasters. Ideally your leads will fit your specific talents, price range and interest. In order for us to send you high quality leads that are a good fit for your talents, we need to know what type of gigs you are looking for. You can let us know by customizing your account settings.

You can optimize your account settings in terms of event types, travel radius, blackout dates and category selection.

Event Types

By default, your membership is automatically set up to accept leads for all types of events. If there are certain event types in which you are not interested (for example: funerals), it is important that you set your membership to reflect that.

Follow these steps to modify your event types, or as we refer to them, your “gigs desired:”

  1. Log into your Control Panel
  2. Select the 'profile' tab.
  3. Click the 'Edit' link for 'Profile.'
  4. Scroll down to the 'Gigs Desired' section.
  5. Deselect any event types in which you are not interested.
  6. Click the 'Continue' button at the bottom of the page.
  7. Review your selections and click the 'Update' button on the top right of the page.

Travel Radius

It is very important that you carefully consider how far you are willing to travel for gigs. By default your account is set to receive leads as far away from home as your membership level allows (100 miles for Basic, 500 miles for Professional and 3,000 miles for Gold). While some members are willing and able to accept long-distance gigs, many are not. There is no need to receive leads for gigs that are too far away.

*Tip* Your GigMasters travel radius is calculated from the 'Performer City' that you enter and the distance is measured 'as the crow flies.'

Follow these steps to update your travel radius:

  1. Log into your Control Panel.
  2. Select the 'profile' tab.
  3. Click the 'Edit' link for 'Profile.'
  4. Go to the top section 'Modify Profile.'
  5. Make your changes to the box under: “How far are you willing to travel for work?”
  6. Click the 'Continue' button at the bottom of the page.
  7. Review your selections and click the 'Update' button on the top right of the page.
