It is pretty clear that going into 2011, one of Facebook's biggest priorities was improving and expanding the music side of their service (their recent integration with Spotify comes to mind). That musicians promote themselves and interact with fans on Facebook is nothing new, but artists can now do more with Facebook then ever before and a recent study by RootMusic shows exactly what the site's most popular artists are up to.
RootMusic's primary product is BandPage, a service that helps musicians make the most of their Facebook fan pages. It is used by some of the biggest artists in the record industry, which might explain how they pulled off a study of the 'Top 250 Musicians on Facebook' (top seems to be defined by those with the most likes).
