Post-Sandy: How You Can Help and Get Help

Posted by Drew Stoga on November 13, 2012

For much of the county, Hurricane Sandy is old news but there are still plenty of folks who are still very much hurting in Sandy's wake. One of the few good things to come out of disasters like this are the stories of people coming together to help one another. We've recently learned of a number of outreach efforts aimed at event professionals that we wanted to pass on. One comes from our friends at The Knot and the other from BizBash CEO David Adler who has teamed up with the Mayor's Fund to Advance New York. Whether you are looking for ways to help or you yourself could use a hand, these are some great resources...

In the wake of the storm, The Knot launched a Hurricane Sandy Relief for Wedding Professionals page. The page explains that "The Knot is committed to helping the weddings community recover as quickly as possible" from Sandy. This the place for wedding pros (if you play weddings that means you) to post urgent needs, tips and dates you're available/need coverage. Click the photo below to check out the page:

The Knot Sandy ReliefBizBash has always been another great resource for event professionals and the company's CEO, David Adler, has stepped up to the plate to help out post-Sandy. He alerted us to Event Industry Responds who are helping out The Mayors Fund to Advance New York in some of the harder hit areas of the city (of which there are still many).
