Soulful Solo Entertainment

Passion is a vital element of any successful musician’s career. For singers that passion comes from a true love and appreciation for music and it often translates into a magnetic energy that radiates from any performance. When speaking to GigMasters five Star Performer Soulful Solo Entertainment (Los Angeles, CA), it is quite clear that he is full of passion and dedication. He has played many gigs throughout the United States and there is no doubt that he is a very talented singer and professional performer.

Soulful Solo Entertainment’s career boasts many exciting experiences and appearances and he was kind enough to share some of them with us in a recent interview:

Are you a full time singer/songwriter?

SSE: Yes, and I have been performing for the past 15 years.

How did you come up with the name of Soulful Solo Entertainment?

SSE: I know you only have a brief moment to catch someone’s attention and I have found that when the name also explains what it is that you do it is helpful. My voice is soulful and I perform solo, so Soulful Solo Entertainment really describes what it is that I do.

Your career boasts some impressive credits such as The Tonight Show and Good Morning America, do you have a manager/agent or do you handle your own bookings?

SSE: I have management and a label as well as a few different agents. I have an agent that deals with club bookings, an agent that deals with college bookings and I also have a publicist. When I was booked on those shows I was typically hired as a musician to play as part of a band. But, I have done a lot of press on my own and I have booked my own gigs as well.

You have booked a lot of gigs through GigMasters, what sort of gig requests do you typically get through our site?

SSE: Most of the gigs are wedding gigs. Right now a lot of them contact me looking for a performer for a cocktail reception and ceremony which works well because my set up is portable. Sometimes they book me as the only entertainment, and sometimes there is other entertainment such as a DJ that also plays the reception.

What are your favorite gigs to play?

SSE: I enjoy all the opportunities I get to perform, however I most enjoy the gigs where the clients are really truly excited about music, and have taken the time to learn a little something about me and the type of music I make.

You have shared the studio and stage with some very talented artists, who was your favorite to work with?

SSE: I have played a lot of little shows in Los Angeles with bigger artists such as Katy Perry, Sara Bareilles and Lady Antebellum. Colbie Caillat actually opened for me during my CD release party which was pretty cool.

Any other information you would like to share?

SSE: What has helped me to be successful is that I look to see what I can do that no one else does, to consider the needs of potential clients, and fill them.
