Tips for Uploading Media

When you move into a house, the first thing to do is unpack. Then, you decorate! Well, think of your profile on The Bash as a “home” for your business. After you fill your profile with the most important information, like pricing and a description of your services, it’s time to spruce things up. Our friendly Account Specialists are here to help you do just that, but we also wanted to provide you with some tips so you can upload new media at your own convenience.

Photos and videos give potential clients a better look at who you are and what you do, so it’s highly recommended that you fill your profile with examples which display your quality and professionalism. So go ahead, show off! Here's everything you need to know to get started:

Say Cheese!

A picture says a thousand words, and your profile on The Bash holds up to 100 photos, a cover photo and a profile thumbnail/search results photo. That’s a whole lot of words!

Profile Picture

Let’s start with your profile photo which is the first and largest photo that party planners will see on your profile. We recommend uploading a landscape-oriented photo with an aspect ratio of 16:9.

To upload the photo, make sure it is saved on your computer as a JPEG, PNG, or BMP file, and is no larger than 10 MB in size. Then, simply click the “upload a photo” button, and select the image from your computer. You will then be able to crop your photo however you'd like and click the next button to adjust your search results photo.

Search Results Photo

Once you upload a profile photo, you will be prompted to create a cropped, square version of it for your profile thumbnail/search results photo. This photo is displayed in search results when party planners are searching for vendors in your area.

Photo Gallery

As for your photo gallery, you have the ability to upload multiple images at once by clicking the upload button or dragging and dropping multiple files. You also have the option to crop your photos. If you'd like to change the display order of the images, you can drag the photos by clicking the dots in the lower left hand corner of the photo and placing them in your desired order. 

You will also see the “add a caption” button below each photo. Simply click it to add a description to your images! We recommend adding the date, the type of event, or a description of the music/character/magic trick/etc. that is being pictured. Please note that the captions have a maximum of 35 characters or less and, as always, personal contact information or unfriendly language won’t be permitted. 

Stop, Look & Listen!

Adding videos to your profile is a fantastic way to demonstrate the excellence of your services. You can add up to 20 videos to your profile through either YouTube or Vimeo links. We recommend videos that are 2-3 minutes long. This will ensure there is enough content to capture party planners’ attention and not too much to lose their attention while watching. Videos of you in action at an event or of your happy clients are great! Learn more about uploading videos on The Bash.
